Personal Development

There are many aspects of management and communication that form part of integrated management development programmes.

Campus Veolia Environnement has designed a unique programme of short (one day) courses covering all areas of behaviour and attitude at work most of which are included in the accredited management courses

Other courses can be developed on request

Further information on these and other requirements can be obtained from Campus Veolia UK

Advanced Presentation Skills

Many employees have already received presentation training but have picked up bad habits on the way. Without independent evaluation they are not aware of the impact that they make when giving a presentation. The main aim is to provide intensive feedback for delegates at all stages of a presentation.

Building Positive Relationships

In the pursuit of our business objectives it is essential that we build professional relationships with our customers. We must not only find new customers; we must keep them. How we deal with them to ensure we deliver to their expectations depends on our interactions with them.

Communication

In a large group misunderstandings arise often as a result of poor communication. Improving this will enhance personal relationships, company efficiency and customer service. The main aim is to clearly identify all of the factors which lead to effective communication, ensuring that the intended message has the right impact.

Dealing with negative people

The main aim is to clearly recognise and select an appropriate style of interaction and a response to people who display these traits. If dealt with the wrong way, the image the organisation wishes to portray or personal relationships could be affected.

Managing Change

Most employees do not like change at the best of times. When such change is imposed upon them without prior or proper consultation it can create an adverse and negative working environment. To establish the effects that organisational and personal change can have on individuals, teams and departments and to identify appropriate action to deal with them.

Negotiating Skills

Many employees have to negotiate either internally (with co-workers) or externally (with customers, suppliers etc.) on a daily basis. Occasionally these others have excessive or irrational demands which cannot be met easily - if at all. In such circumstances a potential conflict situation which needs to be addressed in order to avoid escalation may arise.

Problem solving and decision making

Everybody makes mistakes. Sometimes people are faced with problems which appear to be so complex in nature and detail that they become blind to the fundamental issue, sometimes to the point of complete inaction. The main aim is to show participants how to interpret and separate out logically and systematically the key important factors in order to accurately diagnose the base problem and to show how this leads to the right solution.

Report Writing

The main aim is to establish a process and practise the skills involved, which will complement theGroup style of reporting. This process can then be monitored and developed on an on-going basis within the organisation.

Coaching

To complement all other training programmes being undertaken within the Group, it is essential for managers to be able to effectively support all employees who are finding particular difficulties in specific situations.

Customer Service Skills

Influencing

It is often very difficult to motivate people and encourage them to a position - particularly if they don't want to go there! We deal with different types of customers every day and it is essential that we adopt appropriate styles to meet their expectations. To clearly identify and utilise the best influencing styles to suit given situations.

Leadership

The main aim is to help managers understand their preferred individual styles and assess the impact this has on their respective teams.

Managing Meetings

Any meeting that is not properly prepared and managed loses its effectiveness and is often counter-productive. To clearly identify key factors for holding successful meetings.

Presentations Skills

Many people who have had no formal training or practical experience in giving a presentation feel under pressure when asked to deliver one to a mixed audience. This can be stressful and can have an adverse effect on performance.

Teambuilding

Within the Group many teams have been built up without any formal recognition of them as cohesive units, which is the first requirement for meeting business objectives. The main aim is to establish the key component parts of teams and their inter-relationships in order to enhance their effectiveness.
